I may be wrong but I think most Comm Slot Modems suck anyway, or they 
are not 56k. Either way, seeing as it comes with the obligatory pair 
of serial ports you'd be better off using an external modem if you 
ever need one and sticking a Comm Slot ethernet card in it. I have 
one in my 6300CD and it seems to be an OK device, no slower than 
built in AFAI can tell.
