Turned out to be much simplier than that. I turned the machine around, so that I could reseat the cables. Tested it and it works again. This machine is missing the ceramic piece that holds the cable connections correctly. When I was fiddling around with the printer cable next to it, I must have unseated it enough for the connection to fail. Don't know if Hotsync still works, but I don't plan on using that every day.
