That 8500 has tons of room for another hard drive. Your dilemma would be
the Power Mac vs 68k Mac files, or the HFS+ syndrome. I'd want to download
the Disk Tools disk image from Apple for System 7.5.3, mount it to a clean
floppy and boot the LC with it. Then copy the floppy to the LC's drive,
first removing the Finder to the trash off the LC's hard disk.
