Just about any type of oil will break down the adhesive. WD-40 does wonders. Dab it on the residue left behind after you remove the sticker, let it sit a few minutes (giving the oil time to work) and wipe it off with a cloth that won't break down such as an old T-shirt. Cotton balls, tissue paper etc. tend to make a mess. Just make sure you keep the oil on the outside of the case. There is also a product called Goo-Gone that works well without messing up the case. It can be found at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, etc.
Now that you have the sticker mess taken care of you need to remove the oily layer. This is easily done with IPA (Isopropyl alcohol), also called rubbing alcohol or with Denatured (Ethanol) alcohol. Depending where you are located IPA is probably the easiest to find. Any department or drug store will sell you 16 ounces of IPA for about .50 cents. Keep in mind that denatured alcohol is Ethanol (grain alcohol) with a small a mouth of Methanol (wood alcohol) added to make it poisonous so as to discourage chemistry students, lab techs and chemists ;) from drinking it.
