No it doesn't - I found this out the hard way on my IIci (which 
curiously uses nearly the same case) :(. You will have to find a disk 
tools floppy, the 7.5 floppy from Gamba's site (already mentioned) will 
boot it straight off. Boot from that, de-bless the current system 
folder (move the Finder and System files out of there - for safekeeping 
i throw them in a stuffit archive) and rename it to something other 
than 'System Folder'.

Having said all that I'd have said System 7.6.1 was a better option 
uless you have less than 8MB RAM.....
