i agree with that one...
my computers have names (well, they're mostly linux boxen and have a
domain name... wembly.iriXx.org, hamish.iriXx.org, indigo.iriXx.org ...)
all have various stories behind them...

and they behave themselves well, touch wood (*knocks on own head*)

whereas i tend to be the sort of person who crashes machines by sitting
in front of them... particularly G4s and iMacs...

someone told me once that there's a theory on crystal behaviour and high
energy / tension states... rather like people who can stop watches, some
people can crash computers because of their high body energy...

which would explain why newbies always panic and it crashes, then the
expert comes along and it works fine...

and also explains why my machines at home work fine and the ones in the
studio crash the moment i touch them... my machines at home 'know' me...
and i must say, knowing them by name probably means i relax more while
i'm using them, and they become more user-friendly....

or maybe i'm just nuts... ;-)
