After I had to clean out three of these floppy drives, I started putting
a piece of tape over the floppy slot.  The HD's have survived, the
drives stay clean, and I'm happy.  I had a IIci and a IIsi worked on by
Apple techs (still in warranty) and both of them got the plastic case
over the floppy drive.  Therefore the tape.

A Turbo 601 might suffer, but if that happened, I'd open holes in the
cast-in slots on the right front of the case.
