This will only work if you have SE fdhd or SE superdrive. Normal SE's have a rom chip that cannot handle superdrives. > >2) External APPLE CD-ROM Drive (SCSI) 4x or 8x (8x is better), that is >compatible with an SE and/or a CLASSIC. Can a SE handle a 8x cd-romo well enough? >5) 250 MB external SCSI Iomega Zip Drive (Does the Computer Store still >have these in stock?). I doubt these are compatible with the SE, the plus or the classic. >6) Mac OS 6.0.8 (aka System 6.0.8) 800K Floppy Disks (as I found that >mine have now died after all these years), and does anyone have or know >how to make a bootable Mac OS 6.0.8 CD-R? System 6 disk images can be found at ftp.apple.com. Why should you want to make a bootable mac os 6.08 cd-r? It is likely possible. Toast allows the creation of system 6 compatible (that is system 6 without desktop manager installed) cd roms. > >a) Which software(s), and/or drivers and/or extensions are needed to >allow CD-ROM drives to mount under Mac OS 6.0.8, Mac OS 7.1 with Update >3, and Mac OS 7.5.x, on a Mac PLUS (I know that you can't boot a PLUS >via a CD-R), an SE and/or a CLASSIC? Try the macdrivermuseum. > >b) Which external SCSI CD-R burners work with an SE and/or a CLASSIC? I am not sure any of them will... I believe toast requires a 68030 processor.
