Thanks for all the info, and offers, for the IIfx. Answered
as many questions as it CAUSED, so...

I have a few more questions:

SELLING ITEMS:
--I got alot of requests for the RAM. I do not plan to
separate the 80 MB from it, whether I give it to charity or
keep it. BUT, depending on what the 8 other chips I have
are, I would part with those to the membership here...once I
figure out a fair way to do it.

--I do not intend to ship any of the Macs from this batch
(too much hassle). If you want them and are local to the San
Leandro/Oakland area, you can have them. Or you can come get
them. The IIfx and 8100/110 currently are staying. The LCIII
has to be examined, and the Color Classic's drive is
dead(?).

IIfx:

--Those of you who guess a 4x4 MB + 4x16 MB config seem to
be correct.

--I believe the IIfx had two FDHD (2 MB drives)...can
someone verify?

EXPANSION:

--The "Macintosh Display Adpter" has two SIMM slots
on-board...VRAM I assume. Can you use normal SIMMs or need
special SIMMs? How can I tell if it's maxed-out already?

--Is the DoveFAX card good for anything? I was thinking of
setting-up a fax server with one of the Bing products on
another Mac, but since this dropped in my lap...?

RAM:
--I examined the bundle of IIfx RAM that came *separate*
from the IIfx. I have no idea what size they are, is there a
web site that goes over "reading RAM"? I suspect it is 8x 1
MB, as I believe that was a standard configuration of the
IIfx...correct?

--How do I verify with certainty that this is FX RAM?

--You'll love this...one of the "RAM" cards is
actually....drum roll.....a IIfx 512k *ROM* chip. Looks
identical to the one currently in the FX right now. Why on
Earth would someone have a "spare"? I thought I read
somewhere this ROM could be used in other Macs or is needed
for some accelerators....?

ORANGE MICRO:
--Made a typo..the BIOS for the cards is a 486/DX. I can't
tell you how fast, a heat sink is glue to the chip! Did
these come in a 486 model?

--How can I tell what kind of CPU, chip type, speed, and
socket type the board has?

--Has anyone upgraded the CPU on one of these...does it work
with the software?

--There is a single RAM socket, 8 MB. Does anyone know the
RAM limits of the card? Does it require special RAM (parity
RAM for example)? Can it use Mac SIMMs?

--What are the two ports facing out the back? One is a 17x2
rectangular grid of male pinds. Just beside it is what looks
like a PCMCIA slot card reader. What the heck were these
for?

--Can you verify the best WinOS I can run? Would prefer 98,
but 95 is okay. 3.11 is not new enough for my purposes.
Linux is something I'll tinker with later.

Thanks again for the volume of useful info!
