OK now... I think I read somewhere that you might be able to use Zterm
on even a 512k to telnet and get on the internet.
On a (somewhat) related note, would it be possible to have a system 6
Mac "telnet" to another Mac via Localtalk and get the 'Net that way?
Just wondering, as my Classic only has 2MB RAM, system 6, and no
ethernet to make use of Broadband like my IIci can... Perhaps it would
be something like this: Classic runs Zterm, set to connect via
Localtalk. Remotely run Lynx off my IIsi, which is running Localtalk
Bridge and a 10bT card. IIsi is connected to router, which is connected
to cable modem.
Feasible? Anyone? Hello?
Oh, and on the subject of the IIsi, anyone have any experience
overclocking one to IIci comparable speed? (after adding FPU, of course)
Also, my si does not have the ROM SIMM. Are the actual ROMs the same
(data-wise) between the SIMM and the soldered? Maybe if anyone is good
at desoldering stuff it might be possible to resolder these mobo ROMs to
an empty SIMM and throw it in an SE/30... OR, maybe make an image of the
ROM SIMM, then flash it to a blank SIMM and put the copy in a SE/30 (of
course, it would be illegal to use both the original and the copy at the
same time)
