here's my totally unqualified opinion, fools rush in, etc:
...you could turn the 2 IIsi cases vertically. feet out, covers mirror
imaged, like mark's FPM hack, and cut out some of the cover plane.

or you could use two covers and one base, horizontally, and use the
middle cover as a spacer if you cut out the panel that ordinarily would
be the middle cover's top plane.

as to PDS vs Nubus: i dont know where to find it, but there is supposed
to exist a nubus multiplier by Second Wave that plugs into either the
PDS slot or a nubus slot--not clear which--and gives you 8 nubus slots
from one. I usnderstand its a card with 8 slots oon it, 7 of which are
open, the last holding the coordinator circuitry that controls the other
nubus slots.
horizontally, the spacer band of the middle cover would add height for
nubus cards.
turning them mirror image vertically, siamese twinned by their covers,
would give you more space still.
let the experts speak to the big power supply issue.
you might want to have two power supplies--the standard for the standard
board side, so as not to fry it with more than it expects, and another
one in the mirrored side, for all the extras??
got no clue how you would rig the bigger one, tho.
