Ooohhh, it's an OLD board. ;) Could be some resistor
or capacitor has changed value. Get out a DVM and
a resistor color code chart and see if all the
resistors are the value they're supposed to be.

If all the resistors read OK in circuit, then it could
be a problem in the output signal filter circuitry.

Here's a link to a site about problems with the
filters on more modern boards.

Might give you or someone who knows their $h!t on
electronics an idea or two. 'Course it'll help if
you can fix it or know someone who works cheap. :)

I know an old fellow who spent 30 years in the US Navy
communications and electronics division. He works
cheap, mostly for the fun of it, he gets his Navy
pension, Social Security etc so he doesn't need to
charge a ton of $ for labor. :)

I just had a VCR fixed that always thought a tape
was in, so it would try to tear itself to bits
pulling the carriage down against the latch. Turned
out that a 33 ohm reistor going to the infrared LED
that's supposed to be visible to the tape loaded
sensors had somehow increased in value to 333 ohms
and the LED was too dim to trigger the sensors.
