I used the LaserWriter driver on both. I had fairly good luck with the
LPR drivers on the PowerMac, but haven't tried that yet on the IIci. I
rather it just worked with the same Netatalk setup.

I have run the stock 7.1 setup on the PowerMac and it was fine. A
few days ago the hard drive in the PowerMac died so now I can't
compare notes. That's one reason I'm posting, since I lost my working
configuration.

Netatalk isn't showing any errors and I don't believe the Mac even makes
contact after the initial query for the printer.

I'm even wondering if it is differences in how Appletalk runs on the PPC
versus the 68k. Netatalk is pretty old, but I would imagine most testing
these days is done with PPC machines.
