Of course 7.1 supports ethernet, as do system 7.0 and 6 and possibly 5... You might want to have a look at the system folder of a computer and click on stuff to see what happens. That is the way I learned how an operating system works and the tricks it can do. Some nubus ethernet cards require special driver software that is not included in the system or in apple network software installers, in that case you need to pay a visit to the website of the manufacturer to look for the approptriate driver software. The question is: do you support ethernet? Weren't you the guy sending large files via a 10/100 hub? In that case you might have a problem with the auto sensing of that assante card. I suggested you plug a 10 mbit hub in your network. The asante won't have problems dealing with an older hub. BTW for TCP/IP you need to install a program called Open Transport 1.1.2.
