He ejected, rather than put away, a floppy disk. The system is asking for the disk to be reinserted as there were files in use when it was ejected or because the "ghosted" image of the disk is still on the desktop. When he tried to put it away, the system asks for it to be reinserted so it can be unmounted. It isn't clear to me why he doesn't just comply, reinsert the disk and unmount it...
"Flop" is apparently a Dutch diminutive (nickname, more or less) for floppy disk. This seems to be a near universal Netherlands behavior -- they call themselves Dutchies, for example. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way in English and we become confused.
