I had this working several years ago on an SE using a "LineLink" modem. 
The software came with the modem, which I think was 14.4 speed. Yes it 
worked most of the time, but my overall impression was that it was 
inferior to a dedicated answering machine. The Fax part of the software 
also had various problems. I don't think I still have the modem or the 
software (it was specific to this modem), and can't remember the name of 
the program.

Phillip, your SE/30 lacks a microphone port, which was one of the 
drawbacks to the setup I had. I could use the telephone to record my 
message, but the quality was poor.
