I apologize if this is OT. I use Eudora Light 1.3.1 - 3.1.3 on a variety of Compact, Vintage (and a G3) Macs.
I signed on with a new ISP and am getting "ERR Bad login" messages when I try to access my POP3 account with them. Outside POP servers (like WebTV.net and Subdimension.com) work fine and I have no problem sending mail through the new ISPs SMTP server. I have checked and rechecked my settings and have tried several different configurations. Eudora 5.1 works fine but I hate it. The problem may be with the Eudora 1.3.1 - 3.1.3 POP account configuration, which has to be: [EMAIL PROTECTED](or mail).server.com(or net) When a mail program allows you to enter your username and POP server separately, there are no problems. The ISP admin is very willing to try to work this out and has already obtained the Eudoras in question to try to replicate the problem. Do any of the server techies on the list have any suggestions about what the problem is so I can point him in the right direction? This ISP is a keeper and I would like to make it work out (I spent less time investigating my wife before I married her).
