Hello, I'm new to the list. I just picked up a whole flock of LCs and
a IIci to boot, all in exchange for a busted microwave oven and an
old PrimeStar receiver (thanks to j. davis in Asheville NC).

I have two LCs and an LC II. I also picked up two old AppleColor High
Resolution RGB Monitors- one manufactured in 1988, one in 1991.

My problem is that I can't get the LCs or LC II to work properly with
any monitor other than the 1988 AppleColor. I have tried connecting
them to the 1991 AppleColor, a MultipleScan 14, a MultipleScan 15, a
Macintosh 16" Color, and a generic 15" VGA monitor manufactured in
2000. None of those worked. Most of them do not show any video signal
at all. The two MultipleScan monitors show horizontally-scrambled
video, which I've seen before when machines don't sync up correctly.
Resetting PRAM has not had any effect.

Interesting side note: The IIci would sync up with both AppleColors,
but not the MultipleScan 15, Macintosh 16", or generic VGA. I also
got an LC III from Mr. Davis that syncs with everything but the
generic VGA.

One of the LCs is going to my nieces with the older AppleColor
monitor, so that's fine. But I need to get the LC II or remaining LC
to work with one of my other monitors. I'm not sure how to get this
to happen when I can't change the resolution setting in the Monitor
control panel- because I can't see it. And I'm not sure if that's
actually what needs to be done to fix this, because all the LCs
display in 640x480 on the 1988 AppleColor. Why is it so different on
a 1991 model, or on either of the MultipleScans- all of which support
640x480?

Thanks for the help,

Fletch
