I bow to technologically advanced history they've created. Every Mac I've ever owned has been superior to P.C.'s . Comparing the SE to an 8088. The LC to an 80286. IIci to an 80386. Quadra to an 80486.
Far less setup BS like one goes through on the PC with new, upgrade or replacement hardware. Built-in stereo since the way early nineties. Built-in video since the early eighties. I STILL WANT A G5 Dual. More than any other machine I've sampled, even top-end PC's which are so utilitarian, this is what spins my propeller; floats my boat. It wasn't until the Mac decided to use more PC-oriented components that it's been REALLY problematic. I own a bunch of old Macs. I have a 7300 here I'm emailing on. And I do lotsa things with it. Things I wouldn't on a PC. Because I hate the hassle of parallel ports, serial port doo doo with certain peripherals, USB that doesn't work right. The BIOS. Yeaaghh. IRQ settings. DMA. Sound cards that clash with USB mice. The Old Mac HAS a market. We just forgot what it was. Kids and Seniors. Once I set up a Mac and put them in front of it, they see how easy a IIci is to repair when it crashes from software errors. Same for SE's, LC's, Quadras, Centrises. Making something simple takes massive effort. We constantly fail to appreciate the work and ideas that have gone into these computers to make them simpler.
