A grey screen with only the cursor on boot is a sure sign of a SCSI termination problem.

You need to go back and double check your drives for correct SCSI ID's and correct termination.

Ken, I've set the drives on the JackHammer to get power from the bus, and the last one to provide termination. I believe it's correct. If I delete the stripe and replace it with simple partitions, both drives mount correctly, and have run a long test on the drives with no errors.


It's only if I try to mount a striped array that I get a problem.

Since this is the only reason (I can tell) for wanting to use FWB HDTK I'm really thinking this s/w is a con.
