I've been running my IIsi with a Radius PrecisionColor 8-XJ video card for about 3 1/2 years. I've been using it with a DB15-to-HDI5 dip-switch adapter and have had it connected to an Apple MultiScan 15 (M2978) monitor (with an HD15 connector on the back of the monitor). No problems at all.
I just bought an Apple MultiScan 20 (M1823) monitor (it has a DB15 cable wired to the back of the monitor) and want to use it with this card. The problem is that when I boot the IIsi, it doesn't recognise that the multiscan 20 monitor is connected. However, if I boot the IIsi with the old Multiscan 15 monitor connected, and then disconnect it and reconnect the new Multiscan 20 monitor, the Multiscan 20 monitor works (in all resolutions). Any idea what's going on here. The docs for the MultiScan 20 say you need a Quadra, Centris, PowerMac or an Apple 24ac display card. I have no idea whether the Radius PrecisionColor 8-XJ is 24ac compatible, but it seems to work as long as it's connected after boot time (and the other monitor is connected during boot time). Maybe I need a better video card. After about 2 hours of surfing, I found (among other things) that the Radius PrecisionColor Pro 24AC is similar to the Apple 24ac. Don't suppose anyone has one of those they want to unload? I suppose I could just buy a DB-15 switch box and switch after booting, but I'd really like to get rid of the old Multiscan 15 monitor.
