I have a Mac Plus and I got it on the Internet.  I got a SCSI to
Ethernet Adaptor from Small Dog and it was off and running.  However,
I was using system 7 at the time.  I have yet tried it with system 6. 
As for the speed, I think it depends on your ethernet connection and
whatever adaptor you are using (if your classic II comes with an
ethernet adaptor, then you are probably moving at 10mbps at the least
(using a 10 Base-T connection).
