Hey all. Low End Mac reports that the Centris 650 (aka Quadra 700) has 4MB or 8MB of on-board memory and four memory slots. These can be populated by 32MB 72 pin SIMMs for a total of 132MB or 136MB.

My Centris 650 (aka Quadra 650) has 80MB of installed memory, including on-board memory. It has two 72 pin memory slots. This appears to be odd. First, I am "missing" two memory slots. Second, to get 80MB with two memory slots (assuming 8MB on-board maximum) would require one 64MB SIMM and one 8MB SIMM.

Can anyone provide some insight. I do not know if the logic board could be swapped for one from another Mac. Or if there were revisions to the Centris 650 board. I will have to have another look at the motherboard.

Thank you in advance.

Tristan.
