there are several shareware/freeware programs that claim to do this (i.e. let you use 
any
resolution/refresh the card supports and ignore the monitor sense lines) though i 
haven't
gotten them to work, it probably depends on which video card etc. you have.  check the
usual shareware sites.  if you can't find them write me off list and i'll email the 
ones
i've grabbed.
