Howdy

I just picked up a couple of Lc-IIIs at a local school auction. I'd like to
clean them up and give them to my grandkids for Christmas. The problem is I
don't have the administrator passwords for either machine.

I did a search on the internet and found instructions to reset Root
passwords. That procedure involves holding "command-s" during the boot
process and getting into the text based single user mode.

Other instructions follow, but the keyboards I have do not have a "command"
key. I've tried holding down the key with the apple on it and the s key, as
well as all of the other non-alphabetical or non-numerical keys.

Is there a way to get into the single user text mode?

And if it isn't obvious by now, I know NOTHING about Apple products in
general or Macintosh in particular

THANKS!!!

See Ya

Have Lots of Fun

Bruce
