Whoa -- was it a Woz edition? Nice. Apples often don't have fans. Check your older powerbooks. No fan. Steve Jobs prefers heat sinks and a minumum of fans because PC's are so loud.
Not sure on the sad sound. IIgs had their own OS, and won't run the MacOS to the best of my knowledge. After all, it's still an Apple II.
