It was only present as an extention in 7.5. From 7.5.1 onwards it's integrated into the System file, but only if the 040 Mac the OS is installed on doesn't have it in ROM. Related to this, the DayStar Turbo 601 upgrade for the IIci and other 030 Macs has SCSI Manager 4.3 in its ROM and the control panel has a switch to enable or disable it. But it doesn't matter because any program that requires SCSI Manager 4.3 completely ignores it. I assume somehow the apps detect the "sleeping" 030 CPU and since no 030 Mac has SM 4.3 in ROM, it's "not present" even if it's enabled by the Turbo 601 control panel, or even if you take the extention from 7.5 and drop it into the extentions folder. That extention will only load with 7.5 on the few models of Mac with a 68040 CPU that don't have SM 4.3 in ROM. It will be total Fandemonium!
