<< Hello,

Nowadays, the number of Mac models on market is very small: we only have one
high-end, more expandable Mac (PowerMac); two more consumer models (iMac and
eMac) and the ever-present Mac mini (and of course the laptops and the
Xserve line).

But there's something missing! In the early (and mid) 90s, Apple
manufactured low-end computers which were far more expandable than iMac
(which only lets us upgrade RAM, HDD and add Bluetooth and AirPort).

I guess the changing of the processors would be a great opportunity to
change a bit the models available. There should be more Performas around
here!

Apple should rethink, because one of the main reasons people don't buy a Mac
is because it isn't expandable (even the G5 has only 3 PCI slots, with a GF
6800 in the PCI-X it only has 2). What happened to expansion slots? PDS?
Hah!

I'm not saying that Apple should produce pretty PCs Mac OS X compatible. But
I'm delaying a bit buying a Mac, (and I was really thinking of buying an
eMac) because the expansion issue is really important when it comes to buy
the right hardware.

Greetings. (and I hope there aren't many horrors in my grammar, it's almost
bed time here in Portugal) >>

I probably have purchased my last Macintosh. I have a goodly supply now,
some 68xxx models and some PCI Power Macs and a B&W with 10. The B& W is
useless, I have nothing that will run on it except AOL. I don't like 10 enough
to
learn it. I'm not into games, music or surfing the web. I'm still learning
about the Macs I now have. When they all quit and qive up the ghost, I'll buy
some
cheap peecee laptop and go from there.
