I concur. Get thee a voltmeter. Also rotate the cells in the receptacles. Sometimes there are bad connections there.. There is a power switch on the back. Be sure it's on and exercise it a few times to clear out the crud. Try the keyboard switch several times, a second or so apart. There are capacitors on the motherboard that need to get charged up to get the main power supply to start. Each pulse gives them a little more charge. Somewhere I have a schematic of the IIFX startup circuit and it's a strange one. Ask off line if you want to get involved in that. My IIFX has a plastic bag with four 1.5 volt A cells in it and three wires soldered to the old 3.6 volt sockets. It's been working OK for a couple of years even thought I start it once a month at best. The female connector is nothing but a switched power cord. It's on when the FX is on. -- --> From the U S of A, the only socialist country that refuses to admit it. <-- -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
