I will confirm, DO NOT plug it into your SE/30. You will fry the
driver chip in the SE/30.

Hi guys...
I got a hold of an external PC 5.25 floppy drive
(A9M0110) with the intention of using it on my SE/30,
but as far as I can tell, it's not the right one that
goes with it. Or, is it possible to use it? I don't
want to plug it in and fry the little guy.... Anyone
know anthing about the match up?

Hmmm. I don't recall there being a 5.25" drive for other
than the Apple ][ series (and gs). I think there are
warnings about plugging any 5.25" drive into any Mac.
Other than the odd one that was made, with a special
cable, to use with some Macs with DOS cards installed.

That, and you can plug the Apple 5.25" drives into an Apple ][e card
installed in a Macintosh. This card emulates an Apple ][e on a Mac. If
you've got one of these cards, you basically have two entirely
different
computers in one.
But NEVER plug an Apple 5.25" drive into a Mac without this card.
The model number he gave (A9M0110) doesn't match the model number
on the
Apple 5.25" drives that I have, so it's possible that it's he's got
either
a Disk ][ 5.25" drive or the newer model of the platinum drives
that are
not as tall but sleeker or he's got the drive Ken mentioned. Which
I have
never seen.
Aside from the model number, what other text is on the bottom? Does
it say
"Apple 5.25 Drive"? "Disk ][" maybe?
