Thanks Hans for reinforcing the very same thoughts I just this minute
expressed to Bob Kiger. He thought III had the problem. Here's the text of
MY msg.:
"Oh, I don't doubt THAT 1 bit. Not too long ago Bob I saw several postings
(& reminder responses) regarding msgs. that were weighted more heavily on
computer & travelogue stuff - getting WAY off the beaten path for which I
THOUGHT this club's focus is. One of the officers put things back on track
so to speak.
Just seemed this latest round was headed off again on a tangent or two. If
I had a problem, that was it. Some1 ELSE hit the nail on the head when they
recognized the same thing happening & profered this: "I want only the facts
..." I hope THAT made some sense.
As you know, it takes time - some of us don't have - to sort thru all these
(granted, some "fluff") MANY msgs. on a daily basis for the "meat." Another
saavy veteran of this club pointed out, rightly so I think, that a lot of
the really personal exchange could be handled by direct messaging rather
than throwing it out to the forum globally where it really holds no general,
universal appeal or interest."
