On several 24ft sail boats we built we installed a 12volt refergiation unit
in the icebox as I recal these came in several sizes and in peaces we
installed the cooling unit in the icebox complete with icecube trays the
compresser was installed elsewherethan the lines were connected up and the
unit charged. I dont know the amp draw bou i think someone out there is
ingenious enougt to adapt that to a rooftop unit.12 volt fans would be no
provlem. we did this before the freon provlem arose.
I think the manufacture mite have been (shipmate ) I also have seen small
sail boats 30ft with airconditioned cabens but never had a hand in installing
them myself and am not sure if they had an auxelery power or just the 10 hp
diesel which generaly had no more than 15 amp aultoner.
