You can simply mount the 12V regulator to the
firewall, tucked up in the far left corner where it
won't get TOO wet in the rain (provided your
aircleaners leave room) - then no major wiring
modification is required, you just need to fabricate a
short harness to connect it to the generator and
extend the Term 30 wire to the starter solenoid.
If you go first-cabin and mount it under the back seat
you'll have quite a bit more work to do since your
main harness runs up-and-over rather than down low as
it does in later cars. Personally I don't think I'd go
to that much trouble, but it's possible.
