Well today I got a set of disc brakes off from a Ghia that I found on
thesamba. I took the rotors off and had the local autostore turn them for
me. They were surface rusted but cleaned up very nice. I've ordered myself
a balljoint tool and plan on replacing the front spindles on my old Baja bug
for practice before I work on my Super.

Now this brings up another question. Even though I have John Connolly's kit
for doing my Super Beetle, I can't get the thought of putting 1303s spindles
on instead of the billet brackets. I've found a set that a guy has removed
from a junk 1303s in Britain and we started at $100 and then went to $150
plus shipping. Now he wants $190 plus shipping and he says the freight
would be as much. Cripes the spindles cost more than the whole kit. I'm
willing to pay $200 for the spindles to have everything "stock" but is there
any way a person can ship from Britain for cheap than that? Any ideas?
Thanks for the help.
