I've found an ashtray for my 1970 Type 1 beetle -- the painted style for
non-padded dashboards (like mine). But I have to re-paint it (and it'll
need some sanding first), and that will obliterate the beautiful
ivory-colored shift pattern that is silk-screened onto it. So to be
authentic, I need a new shift-pattern decal.
I've found just about every other major sticker in the various parts houses,
but so far, no shift patterns. I'll assume (!) it's the same as the one
stamped onto the black plastic ashtrays used on models having a padded dash.
Before I start getting creative: does anybody know of an a supplier who has
these little ivory-colored shift-pattern decals?
