Mike,
I really wish your misunderstanding was in fact the truth. This bug is
not mine.....it belongs to a youngish chap who lives in the city of Islamabad,
far away from my hometown of Karachi. Islamabad is blessed with a good climate
unlike Karachi which being a port city with high levels of pollution. We dont
get to see such nice cars in this part of our country very often.
I saw a very similar 66 on oldbug.com recently. It had an original
radio, not a cassette player.
I did give the owner recommendations similar to what you pointed out.
Such idiotic practices are commonly seen here. If you noticed a very cheap fuel
pipe has been used for a certain span. Then they say VWs are prone to catching
fire. The owner went to a very respectable VW old timer in his city and Im
quite confident he must have sorted all issues. I did not see the 'post
operation' pics tho. Thanks for the input.
Asad.
