NO.
Early Type 4 will fit late Type 3, and early Type 3
will fit Type I, but no Type 4 fits any Type I. The
rotors have a different offset, too, so even though
they LOOK similar they don't interchange.
There are two rotors which will fit your
spindles/calipers; one has a centering ring which may
interfere with non-hub-centric rims (pre mid`72). They
are:
113 407 075
311 405 583A
You'll find these on factory-disc-brake Beetles (Super
or Standard) and Karmann-Ghias or on `66-mid`71 Type 3
(through VIN 3112268738)

The rotors you got off that `72 Type 4 are 411 407 075
- they fit late`71-`73 Type 3 and `69-early`73 Type 4

OEM Ghia/Beetle calipers have a single retaining pin
for the pads, all other calipers have two. `66-mid`71
Type 3 calipers will bolt up to Type 1 spindles but
have slightly larger pistons/pads; OK to substitute,
just don't try to run single-pin on one side and
double-pin on the other. Late`71-`73 Type
3/`69-early`73 Type 4 calipers have a larger bolt
pattern and pads, early`73/`74 Type 4 are even bigger.
