NQ: Five years ago, just before I retired, I picked up a South Bend
9A lathe and a used HF mill. In addition to providing hours and hours
of pleasure as I learn to use these, (and of course spend way too
much money tricking them out with must-have accessories), they have
proven invaluable in making this and that to modify my two Ghias, my
bus, and my '79 vert. When I went to Kadrons on the Ghias, a good
deal of engineering was needed to install fuel pressure regulators
and to route fuel lines. I look for excuses to make parts for these
vehicles.
And of course, there are another ten hobby machinist lists that fill
my in-box everyday with the same kind of help that we get on the VW
lists.
I share your joy.
