I've dealt with these folks in person. They are about an hour from me.
I've not bought new parts from them, however. 
They have a machine shop and quite a stash of 
used parts. For example, I've found just the 
right one-of-a-kind bumper parts for a Ghia there.
I've had engine-related machining done by them.
Joe is in interesting guy to deal with. He knows 
a lot more than I do about vintage VWs.
I wish I could add something to the original 
request about whether he is a reliable source of 
new parts, but FWIW.
