Hey Bert - thanks for sharing this info. After you get the copies all cleaned up, were you going to share it with anyone who wants to have it on their computer? If so, I'd be glad to make it available for a while on my ftp server. I'd be glad to host it and post the link. The more people you know that have the files, the greater the chances of recovery if you drive crashes again. Thanks for the tip on the youtube video. Are there any shots of you driving it or are they just still shots? I guess I'll have to go look right? :) Good to see you're still around Bert. The lists have really died over the past few years. I think more people are facebooking or simply don't have the time. I know that if our online resources ever disappeared, I'd be hurting and hard-pressed because of all the answers I've gotten online over the years. The prevalence of a lot of websites with the information helps somewhat so you don't have to rely on listserves and web forums as much. I still miss the good ol' days when internet was new and people finally had support groups for their hobbies. I guess we can all just stick around in the shadows and hope that someday it'll pick up again. I'm guilty for not posting like I used to, but in my defense, I'm building 3 storage sheds (almost done with #2) to store VW parts in so I can open up my shop and actually get to work restoring a beetle for my wife.
