Hi Bert, Bit of bad news.....had a fender bender in my 1974 Sun Bug. Yes, I am sick over it. There are so many things you need to be picky about when repairing a classic. I called Corey at Sunray Bugs in Dade City, FL. He thinks he has all the parts, just worried about the paint match. I bought the car for $10,000 4 years ago at the Dade City Bug Fest. It is a charm. Now I am wondering if I should cut my losses and sell as is. Also, my health is not great. Been in and out of the hospital 4 times in the last 2 months. I need advice. Erin and all the Volks, List member Yves Voyer was kind enough (back in February) to remind me that he had come up with the old VW factory "Werkstattratgeber " (that's a "shop advisory" or some such) for police beetles in the assortment available on The Samba. I was promptly able to re-download the entire manual -- it's about 20 pages or so -- clean it up and reprint it. It's part of the stuff I've now accumulated to go with my Copbug. And it's been an invaluable guide to getting restoration details exactly right as I've worked on it. And I've now scanned it, cleaned it up a bit, and saved it on hard drive. Now, as soon as I can figure out how to get my backup to work ... I ought to be bomb-proof here, right? Erin, your advice is good. I'm working on it.
