Subject: Re: [vintagvw] Conversion to disk brakes

Bert, I just picked up a complete beam off a 69 KG, then took off the spindles
and brake assemblies. They bolted right on to my 70 beetle with NO problems.
There was nothing to jury-rig or convert. Easiest changeover I ever did, and
all german standard VW stuff. Then I put bigger wheel cylinders on the back of
my bug for even more stopping power. Bill May told me to put front wheel
cylinders on the back as they are bigger, will provide better and more balanced
stopping with the new front disc brake system. I just put the ones off my bug I
had just removed, on the back. Excellent advice.
Courtney
