My state (Tennessee) has changed the law regarding antique-car license
plates. Its a step in the right direction. They allow any antique (25+
year old) car to display old license plates from about the date of
manufacture or original use of the car, and permit the driver to keep the
current-issued Antique Vehicle tag inside the car, like, under the seat.
But theres a minor catch:
The law here does not allow old out-of-state license plates, or foreign
tags. Do any of you live in states that DO permit displaying (only) foreign
or out-of-state license plates? Id like to get our state law changed to
permit that, and Id like to find a suitable model statute to propose here.
