Just noticed that there’s a Blaupunkt Wolfsburg III up for auction on
www.ebay.de .  It has the VW part number on it and the round black knobs for
the 1968-on standard dash – round and with little VWs on them.  Seller says
it works.

The Blaupunkt Wolfsburg was the VW version of the Blaupunkt Bremen:  it had
only AM and Long Wave bands (no FM, etc.).  In the USA, the only thing you
can find on long wave (250-500 Khz) is Aviation Weather Service, which is
still a bit interesting (if you enjoy getting altimeter settings while
you’re driving).  But it’s authentic and historic.

Just in case there are any more authenticity fanatics out there …
