BlankI would use such an app. I just don't dig out the old players much any
more since I got my I Devices. One day the regular player just arrived at my
door, the one NLS has, but before when I was listening to more bard, I was
downloading and using the booksense or stream.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't know how comfortable it'll be to listen to
NLS books on an iDevice. There's something about hardware, the ability to
physically press buttons to navigate that just seems more convenient than
swiping around a touch screen to pause, jump segments, etc. Yes, I know there
are headphones, but it'd be nice not to have to rely on those to quickly move
about without them. I know, I know. It just takes getting used to a different
way of doing things. Ironically, the Victor Stream has been the best piece of
assistive technology I ever invested in.--Joe

  Sounds cool.

If I were the NLS, and I'm most certainly not, I'd hope to have at least a
prototype available for the summer convention season.

  Time will tell.

What I've heard recently is that they are still working on an app. I heard
that, at least the initial version, won't allow you to download talking books
directly to the iPhone. You will have to download them on a PC, then move them
over via syncing them, similarly to what was done with the initial Learning
Ally offering.

Rumor has it that they will be demoing it at an upcoming conference for
member librarians.
