Hi list,
that's a very interesting point about i cloud backups, I have no idea if
the limitation of not being able to restore newer backups to old
firmware also applies to i cloud, I may have to look into that one, I am
curious.
I have never used i cloud, I prefer to have my backups on the computer
where I can see them rather than floating around virtually on line.
But it would be interesting to know what the situation with I cloud is,
and if it is the same as itunes.
as for why someone would want to downgrade, for those who didn't read my
original message,
the reason you might want to downgrade, could either be to switch to a
less buggy ios version, or in my case because there is no jailbreak
available for 5.1.1 yet.
when doing the restore today, I found that my locally saved blobs were
unusable for some reason, but I found that cydia seems to have saved
them automatically for me which is quite nice.
so it seems, that if you have been jail broken before and used cydia,
you still might be able to downgrade if you want to.
I did have some trouble with retrieving my blobs, several times it said
it couldn't find them on the server but it eventually worked.
