Hello Veronica,

You ask an interesting question.

My answer is that it depends upon how you have the app setup. For example,
in my case, I had the CNN app setup to give me notifications. Now, perhaps,
if I had not allowed either notifications or allowed the app to access my
current location, it would not have broken my Wi-Fi. Frankly, by the time I
isolated the problem, I didn't care anymore, I only wanted my Wi-Fi to stay
connected.

Finally, I am not saying that the CNN app, alone, is the problem, I am
saying that removing it fixed my issue.

Mark

Mark, very interesting about apps that break wifi. Maybe this is a silly
question, but I have CNN on my phone, but haven't used it since installing
5.1.1. I can't imagine that this app would break wifi connections if I don't
call upon it. But could I be wrong here? In a way, I hope so. <grin.> I
don't use this app very much and it would be really cool if deleting it
would solve the problem. <grin.> Maybe I'll kick it out anyway. Thanks a
bunch.
