Hi Sandy,

I think I'm finally getting the hang of the app switcher, but it took
some practice.

Once you're in the app switcher, double tap and hold the mail icon
until you hear a tripple tone and the message editing apps. Touch the
mail icon again then double tap just above the icon area to dismiss
mail from the switcher. That's how I've been doing it and it seems to
be working.
