I found some helpful tips by viewing youtube videos.  In fact, if you use 
iPhone voiceover as your search, you'll find tons of great videos which do not 
requ ire vision to learn from their messages.  They range from basic, getting 
started videos to more advanced tips.  If you do add a blue tooth keyboard, 
there's an excellent video on using the BT keyboard with IOS.
