Hi, unless I'm also misunderstanding, apps like RSS Runner allow you to choose what sources you get your feeds from. Admittedly I don't use RSS as much as some others here do, so this is my laymen understanding of how it works. Also, RSS Runner is free in case that matters. It doesn't have fancy features like sharing feeds with an account so you can get them from other computers, but I only use my iPhone for the RSS stuff I read anyway, so it's not an issue. I also didn't have to sign in with my Google account.

If I'm way off here, feel free to tell me to go away on this topic. <smile>.

I think you missed my point. SOmeone has expressed interest in accessing feeds

whatever reason. My point was is I am not aware of an app that would allow you
to add feeds from other sources, but instead you have to use the GOogle reader
as your source of feeds. In other words if you were to setup your own NNTP
(RSS) server, there is no app to my knowledge that would let you access feeds
from that server. Personally I'm fine with GOogle for now.

There's nothing to stop someone from using multiple rss apps for multiple
sources. Then again, that's kind of the purpose of something like Google
Reader. Rss feeds from everywhere all in one place.

My wife who sometimes uses my iPad has a separate rss app that she uses than
my Feeddler one so we don't have to hassel with logging in and out of
accounts through one app.

I think the overall problem is that with most all of these RSS readers (and
I am a big fan of Feeddler Pro) use Google and although this may be ok for
the most part, I think folks are looking for RSS apps that will allow you to
get your feeds from multiple sources. I am not aware of any that will do
that on the iOS platform although it would be nice to have that as an
option.

I use Feeddler Pro and like it a lot. it synchronises with Google
Reader, so I can read material with Feed Demon on my PC, move over to
Feeddler Pro and not see the same articles. It can use the Instapaper
Mobiliser, which gets rid of a lot of the unnecessary clutter on
article pages, and it's fast! You can also grab material for offline
reading, which I do when I'm flying.
